Your Website Isn't Working

Have you ever tried to Google the name of your company? If you have, did you see your business page come up? Probably not.

So What? So what this means is that although you have a great website, nobody is seeing it. In other words, your website isn’t working for you. In order to get clients, people need to be able to find you. The way to be found is to get your website listed at the top of the search engine’s first page. To get to the top, you need to learn about search engine optimization or SEO copywriting.

Current statistics estimate that approximately 50% of all site traffic comes from the use of a search engine. Furthermore, the other 50% is predominantly repeat customers, most of whom found your website via a search engine in the first place. Thus, having a website that ranks well with the leading search engines is essential to a successful e-commerce venture. In order to rank well, you need to have a website that focuses on search engine optimization.

When ranking a website, the search engines are generally looking for relevancy. Relevancy is based mostly on content and links. For example, the more content your site has about the search topic, the more relevant your site will be and thus the higher its page ranking. This is called search engine optimization- Essentially you use SEO copywriting in order to make your webpage more relevant to the most popular keyword searches.

Further, the amount of quality sites that link to your website (and visa versa) is also factored into determining how relevant your site is. Another important factor in determining search engine rank is your website’s overall design. When performing site evaluations, some website design features prevent the evaluating programs from even viewing the site’s content.
