June Edition of AmCham Connect Out Now!

June 6, 2011

In 'The Wallonia Issue', AmCham Connect dives into the Region with profiles, interviews and news.

Overview_PDF.jpg

Wallonia, Belgium’s French-speaking southern region, comprises a landscape of rolling farmland interspersed by pockets of industrialization.

Once renowned for its coal and steel, heavy industry was the driving force behind the region's economy for many years. However, the economy today has considerably diversified, and the many economic activities in the region are now focused on collaboration between industrial basins and university centers.

Simply stated, Wallonia is bridging its industrial tradition with innovation for the future.

In the third part of our three-month series on the three Belgian regions, AmCham Connect takes a closer look at Wallonia for business.
As always, Klenske Ink handled the editorial, production and publishing – including a profile of Google, a one-on-one interview with the Walloon Minister-President and a look at how the US Embassy in Belgium has gone green.
